How to restore your Antminer using the SD Card Method

If you have bricked your Antminer by flashing the wrong firmware, or you have flashed some version that disables future upgrades or downgrades, then the only way you have left is to restore your Antminer, using the SD card method.

Let’s Begin

Follow these steps and you should be able to successfully flash your device…

  1. Simply unzip the contents of this zip file to a freshly formatted micro SD card
  2. Power down your miner and insert the SD card into the slot
  3. Power up your device and wait for a few minutes or until the miner has an IP address
  4. Power down the miner and remove the SD card from the slot
  5. Now turn on your device and search for the IP address using “TP Reporter” available from
Bitmans web site, or any other method you prefer for finding IP address like checking the DHCP server on your router

That’s it, you’re good to go!

Troubleshoot

  • Make sure to set the miner back to factory default settings before flashing.
  • Use a freshly formatted SD card and make sure it is formatted to FAT32.
  • Make sure there is nothing else on the card.
  • When extracting the archive, make sure it is in the root of the SD card, as it appears when opening the zip file. Sometimes when unzipping archive, an extra folder is added to store all of the uncompressed files in.
  • If this is the case, all the files must be taken out of that extra folder that was created and moved to the root of the SD card.
  • Make sure you clear all your browser data after the procedure to be sure that you are not looking at old cached pages from your previous firmware.
